Assessment of the Aim Characteristics of Strawberry (Fragaria × Ananassa) Cultivars in Estonia by Using the K-Means Clustering Method

Choosing an excellent method to compare the aim characteristics of a large number cultivars simultaneously in sufficiently comprehensive way is often essential challenge for breeders. This article presents results assessment Estonian conditions 58 strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa) various geographical origins according main economically useful markers. Based on two years data, were clustered separately each marker using K-means clustering method. Considering data characteristics, including high yield, fruit weight, total soluble solids TSS (°Brix) content, optimal titratable acidity TA (%) and °Brix/acidity ratio, groups similar formed clearly. The validation into important further breeding decisions. A ideal their characteristics.
